Arguably the most versatile running back in the recruiting class of 2024 – Hannibal (Missouri) High School’s standout player Aneyas Williams – Scheduled to announce his college commitments on Friday, the 5-10, 195-pound athlete will announce his decision at 7 p.m. Williams boasts an incredible combination of perseverance, explosiveness, physicality and versatility in the backfield, making him one of the most well-rounded running backs in the country.
Despite playing just nine games as a junior, Williams put together another dominant season for Hannibal. He exploded for 1,999 total yards during the campaign and scored 34 touchdowns that year. Williams has scored touchdowns as a runner, receiver, returner and defenseman during his varsity career.
Following his sophomore season, there was some skepticism about Williams given the level of competition he faced each week in Missouri. Williams went to camp his circuit this offseason and regularly impressed each staff member he came into contact with.
Offers started coming in. Towards his decision, Williams will have to sort through an impressive offer list that includes Irish, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Nebraska, Oregon, Ole Miss, Pennsylvania and Arkansas. No, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, Boston College, Northwestern University, California, etc.
Williams’ hiring rankings also rose. The Missouri native is considered a consensus four-star recruit on all major recruiting platforms, and Rivals ranks him among the 106th overall players in the nation, the 1st all-purpose backs, Missouri ranks as his #3 player. 2024.

Notre Dame has long been associated with Williams. Back in the spring, the Missouri standout came to the South Bend campus three times. This includes back-to-back home game visits against Notre Dame’s Clemson and Boston College this fall.

Since then, Kentucky has been a near-top mainstay on Williams’ list.
