After a rocky 8-4 record, the Texas Longhorns’ regular season is over.
As such, it was inevitable that many players would visit the NCAA Transfer Portal.
And starting Monday, that turnover began, with multiple Longhorns entering their names into the portal.
December 31st update
Jaylen Catalon, who entered the NCAA transfer portal this month after spending four years in Fayetteville at the Arkansas Razorbacks’ safety for the former star, is set to visit Austin, according to reports.
Catalon was in Austin earlier this month, though he probably wasn’t visiting the Longhorns at the time.
Well, he will visit the program this weekend.
Catalon spent four years with the Razorbacks but played in just seven games in the last two seasons due to injuries. He recorded eight total tackles and one pass his defense last season in Arkansas’ 40–21 win over Texas.
When healthy, Catalon has proven to be one of the safest in the SEC.
December 26 update
The former Texas quarterback is set to move to Purdue for the 2023 season, according to multiple reports. The card remains his three-year entitlement with the boilermaker.
Card, a redshirt sophomore and former top quarterback recruit, appeared in 12 games last season for 928 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. The Cards lost the Longhorns’ starting job Quinn Ewers before Week 1, but took over in Week 2 after suffering a shoulder injury in the first quarter. 1 Alabama.
Card started the next three games, going 2-1 and throwing for 741 yards and six touchdowns against one interception. His best game came in Week 5 against the West against Virginia, where he scored 303 yards and three touchdowns, setting a career-best passer rating of 208.7. In his Texas career, Cards finished with 1,523 passing yards and 11 touchdowns against two interceptions. He completed 65.5% of his throws and finished with his rating of 148.1 passers.
New head coach Ryan Walters made it a priority for the Boilermakers to add a veteran quarterback via the transfer portal after their Big Ten Championship loss to Michigan. , sixth grader Aidan O’Connell leaves, leaving the team looking for a new quarterback.

The Texas Longhorns acquired the replacement for punter Isaac Pearson on Tuesday via the NCAA Transfer Portal, with former Stanford punter Ryan Sandborn joining the program.
Sandborn was the Cardinal’s four-year starter, averaging 41.6 yards per punt with 192 punts for 7,980 tards.
He also has experience kicking field goals, knocking out 8 of 10 in his career. He’s also 14-for-14 in extra point attempts.

Former Texas starting offensive lineman Junior Anguillau has found a new home in the Pac 12 committed to the Oregon Ducks.
December 19th evening update

After entering his name on the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month, former Texas Longhorns linebacker Prince Dova found a new home in the Pac-12 and moved to Arizona State’s Sun Devils.

Outstanding Wake Forest Demon Deacons defensive back Gavin Holmes is reportedly set to visit the Texas Longhorns this weekend.
The Longhorns are on the market for additional help in the secondary, with both D’Shawn Jamison and Anthony Cook taking their talents to the next level, and others like JD Coffey and Jamier Johnson. We are entering the transfer portal.
Holmes is arguably the Demon Deacons’ best defensive back in 2022, finishing the year with 24 tackles and 9 passes defended.

Austin native Hudson Card has been the Longhorns’ primary backup quarterback for the past two seasons. Card, named the first starter for 2021, was benched late in the Week 2 loss to Arkansas in favor of Casey Thompson. Thompson would start the rest of the season, but the Cards played in five more games following benching.
Incumbent redshirt freshman Quinn Ewers won the QB1 title during fall camp, but suffered an AC joint injury during the Week 2 loss, leaving then-No. 1 Alabama. Card started the next three games, going 2-1 and throwing for 741 yards and six touchdowns against one interception.
WR Troy Omea
Texas Longhorns receiver Troy Omeir confirmed on social media that he was “looking for a new school” after entering the transfer portal.Omeire spent three seasons with the program.
A top prospect from Sugar Land, Texas, Omeire drew attention for his speed and tracking skills while on duty at Fort Bend, Austin. Expected to be Texas’ future vertical receiver, the 6-3, 230-pound target arrived on campus in 2020 among several other top recruits.
Injuries hampered Omer’s production for three seasons on campus. As a freshman, he suffered a torn ACL during fall camp and was redshirted for the remainder of the 2020 season.
LB Prince Dorba
Third-year linebacker Prince Dorba is entering the transfer portal, reports Tuesday. OrangeBloods.com. Dorba has appeared in five games in three seasons, including three in 2022.
In three seasons with Texas, he recorded a total of 11 tackles (five solo). His most significant was his 49-0 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on October 8th. He recorded his one tackle in that game.
Dolba committed to going to Texas in July 2019 after receiving offers from programs in Ohio State, Notre Dame, Baylor, LSU and Florida. After winning two state titles at Highland Park (Dallas).
