The NFL and the International Federation of American Football announced Tuesday that the two Bears players are among the latest global flag football ambassadors to expand and support the long-term growth of the game around the world.
Receiver Chase Claypool and practice team defensive lineman Samis Reyes are the latest to join the men’s and women’s All-Star teams, which include current American and flag football players, legends, coaches and officials as ambassadors. As one of the athletes, they work together to further raise awareness and promote the unique values of one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
The Flag Football Ambassador Team was first announced earlier this year ahead of the NFL’s Kickoff Weekend. Together, the NFL and IFAF support global efforts to increase awareness, interest and participation in flag football internationally and advance the development of the game.
Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, Claypool said, “It’s an honor to be the NFL’s Global Flag Football Ambassador. I hope that the sport will continue to grow and become part of the Olympics in the near future, and I may be able to participate!”
