Georgia football defensive lineman Bill Norton announces his transfer destination


To date, Norton is the only Georgia player to enter the transfer portal. He is no longer on the team and does not participate in his college football playoff games against Ohio State.

Norton announced that it will enter the transfer portal on December 7, just days after the Bulldogs defeated LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

In a message posted on Twitter, Norton said, “Officially entered the transfer portal. Thank you Coach Smart for the opportunity to be a part of this team over the past four years and qualify for the National Championship. Scott. I am eternally grateful that the director gave me a chance and believed in me forever, even if I didn’t.Thank you for everything at Dawg Nation. ”

The defensive lineman from Memphis, Tennessee has appeared in 13 games for the Bulldogs this season, with most of his work on special teams. He made three tackles this year. Norton has two years left to qualify after signing with Georgia for the 2019 hiring cycle.

Georgia, which hosts multiple players, has yet to remove any players from its transfer portal. A&M defensive back Deyombuy was in Athens on Sunday.

Georgia was the only program in the country not to move last offseason. 13 players moved out of the program, plus he lost 15 players in his NFL Draft.

The Bulldogs continue practicing this week ahead of their game against Ohio State. Georgia will practice in Athens this week before traveling to Atlanta after the Christmas break.
