In August 2022, Corbin released his memoir, California Soul: An American Epic of Cooking and Survival, in which, after growing up in a broken home in Watts and spending years in prison, he became one of Los Angeles’ most famous chefs. “Cooking for the Los Angeles Rams and Watts Rams was an amazing experience,” Corbin said. “The reason I was in the industry and pursued cooking was because I loved feeding people. That passion came from my grandmother. But also to have the chance to talk about my transition, and the path I took to get to where I am now, is a great opportunity.”

During the 2022 Rams training camp, the Watts Rams had the chance to meet with the rookie class. For many of them, Ramsgiving was the perfect circle moment to spend more time with the very man they admired.

Watts Rams general manager Mark May said, “Watts players usually see these players on the big screen. You don’t get to see them up close and personal. “Having dinner with them is a meaningful moment. Entering the 2019 season, the Los Angeles Rams formally announced their support for the Watts Rams (formerly known as the Watts Bears) and the LAPD’s efforts to bridge community and police ties through football games. As part of the partnership, the Los Angeles Rams are funding all components of the Watts Rams program, including uniforms and equipment. Each year, the Rams provide opportunities to interact with current players, alumni, coaches, scouts, football operations and front office staff to expand their knowledge and ignite their passions beyond the playing field. put it on.
