Mississippi State defensive end Randy Charlton takes his talent to the next level.
Charlton announced his intentions to enter the 2023 NFL Draft Thursday afternoon. Along with this announcement, he shared that rather than opting out, he will play for the Bulldogs in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 2nd.
The fifth-year player from Miami, Florida, hit big numbers while wearing maroon and white. Through his two seasons, Charlton recorded a total of 68 tackles, 11 tackles for losses and seven sacks. He also had one forced fumble each year.
Charlton began his college career at UCF and stood out defensively from 2018-2020. He has watched American football games in his 33 games, defending 67 tackles, 4 sacks and 4 passes.

One of Charlton’s greatest career plays cemented him in Egg Bowl lore. In the team’s 2022 matchup with Ole his mistake, he broke his play by two points crucial for the Rebels who were tying the game with his 24 points late in the fourth quarter. The deal was signed with the Bulldogs, and now-deceased head coach Mike Leach won the first Egg Bowl in history.
