Pele’s daughter posted an emotional update from the Brazilian football icon’s hospital bedside.
Pele, 82, will spend Christmas at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo following the news that his cancer has progressed.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that he had an extended hospital stay due to a respiratory infection exacerbated by Covid while he continued treatment for cancer. I am receiving “advanced care” while I am in hospital.
Many of Pele’s family gathered at the hospital and posted a photo of Pele’s daughter, Kelly Nascimento, together.
She wrote on Instagram: Merry Christmas. Appreciation, love, togetherness, family. The essence of Christmas. Thank you for all the love and light you have sent. ”
On Saturday, she posted a photo to Instagram of herself with Pele at the hospital.
“Now let us go with battle and faith,” she wrote. “One more night together.”
Edson Cholbi Nascimento, one of Pele’s sons, known as Edinho, arrived on Saturday.He gave a press conference and denied visiting his hospitalized father.He works for a club in southern Brazil Edinho said only a doctor could help his father.
On Instagram, Nascimento posted a photo of himself sitting next to Edinho and his two children at the hospital, adding: “He is here.” “I will not leave here. No one will take me out of here.”
Hours later, former Santos goalkeeper Edinho posted a photo of him holding his father’s hand.
“Father…my power is yours,” said Pele’s son.
