Notre Dame receives a big boost for 2024 recruiting classes as Hannibal, Missouri High School star returns Aneyas Williams Committed to Ireland over Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky finalists. To understand just how fit it really is, Hannibal’s head coach said: Jason Noland5-10, and gave us insight into what makes 195-pound athletes so special.
“Notre Dame has acquired an all-around football player who has become even better,” Noland said. After that, he made First Team All-State as a wide receiver during his sophomore year, and made it as a running back this season.
“Aneyas is literally named to All-State at three different positions. As a running back, in the slot and as the No. 1 receiver, he can do anything for the offense,” Noland continued.
Williams is undoubtedly talented, but he doesn’t rely solely on natural ability. His attention to detail would be of great help early in his Irish career.
Hannibal’s head coach said, “Aneyas is a tireless hard worker as a person.He has also really evolved as a leader of this team. It’s perfect for.”
Reflecting on when Noland was first introduced to Williams, Hannibal’s staff quickly realized how special he was. His influence was felt immediately.
“Aneyas had quite the reputation playing middle school ball,” Noland explained. We hear this sort of thing quite often, so there is clearly some skepticism.
“It was early in his freshman year, doing offseason training,” Noland continued. It was clear he was the real deal. ”
That offseason work began with that freshman field production. From there, he became one of the top running his back in the country.
“In his first game as a freshman, he scored his first touchdown on his first drive of the season. From that first game on, he showed he was going to be special. So it wasn’t until about halfway through the season that we realized we could actually start opening up the playbook.”
According to Noland, it’s not just his ability on the field that makes Willians special. The maturity he boasts far exceeds his years. That’s what impacted the school the most.
“Recruiters and schools were very impressed with that,” explains Noland. He’s a great kid, a great student, and really knows what’s important to succeed. ”
Williams comes from a school where you don’t often find yourself in this position. Hannibal he the whole community understands how unique and special this is. It’s a big moment for everyone involved.
“The community is so excited about him,” Noland said. The last recruit so coveted was in his late ’70s and early ’80s.

“It will be a special moment for all of us.”
Despite playing just nine games as a junior, Williams put together another dominant season for Hannibal. He exploded for 1,999 total yards during the campaign and scored 34 touchdowns that year. Williams has scored touchdowns as a runner, receiver, returner and defenseman during his varsity career.
Following his sophomore season, there was some skepticism about Williams given the level of competition he faced each week in Missouri. Williams headed to camp his circuit that offseason and regularly impressed each staff member he came into contact with.
Offers started coming in. Towards his decision, Williams will have to sort through an impressive offer list that includes Irish, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Nebraska, Oregon, Ole Miss, Pennsylvania and Arkansas. No, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, Boston College, Northwestern University, California, etc.
