No. 6 Tennessee and No. 7 Clemson will face off in the first New Year’s Six Bowl game of the postseason on Friday in the 2022 Orange Bowl. This SEC vs. ACC showdown in Miami offers him one of the more interesting matchups as the new year gets to the point of the bowl season schedule fast approaching.
The Volunteers lost star quarterback Hendon Hooker late in the season, and wide receiver Jarrin Hyatt opted out of the game in preparation for the NFL Draft. However, coach Josh Hupel still has plenty of firepower, including backup QB Joe Milton. Meanwhile, the Tigers defeated North Carolina State, with freshman QB Cade his Crabnik replacing his DJ Uia Garelai to win his ACC Championship, before moving to Oregon State. Krabnik delivered an MVP performance as Clemson returned to the top of the league mountain.
Both teams look like they have a bright future. Hard Rock Stadium is sure to have a lot of fireworks going off, as it’s definitely going to set up an offseason that includes hype. For live updates and analysis from the Orange Bowl, stay tuned to CBS Sports here.
