Fayetteville, Arkansas – If it feels like the sky has fallen over Arkansas football, it hasn’t.
It’s really hard to stumble, but if you fall, football won’t move forward. Even if many people say that there will not be enough players to form a team in the near future, that will not happen.
That said, any product that the college football world will see in Memphis will need a Christmas miracle to qualify as SEC football.
However, if you’re one of those who still have some stock in the bowl game, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It got on the Bucks’ radar.
Perhaps now the staff and the rest of the fanbase are paying attention to Kansas, who seem to be playing soccer in addition to basketball.
For those who are more concerned about the future of the team, as opposed to scrimmage with a paycheck at the end, it’s a little worrying.
Starters leave and, more importantly, we see a serious crack in the hiring class just days before the December contract period.
Cracks are of great concern for two reasons.
The first is that Sam Pittman went out of his way to visit all the recruits on his Whirlwind Airplane Tour.
Nevertheless, he lost defensive tackle commit Steven Johnson to newly minted Auburn coach Hugh Freese and four-star wide receiver Micah Teese.
A second reason for concern is the implosion of the tight end group that was the anchor for this recruiting class.
Clearly, Hamm’s aforementioned departure to Kansas is cause for unease, but it can at least be reasoned as a kid trying to stay home to keep local programs out of obscurity.
Arkansas fans can relate to this.
Having just lost the coach who recruited him, streamlining considering Hamm is going to be a superstar tight end in the Jayhawks class as opposed to third spokes on Arkansas star-filled tight end wheels It’s especially easy to do.
That leads to Luke Has.
The Bixby, Oklahoma star said ‘The Great One’ smelled blood in the water when rumors leaked that Dowell Rogaines was going elsewhere days before his final departure Later, he became Nick Saban’s main target.
Judging by the ruckus from Tuscaloosa, Alabama-wide belief is that Huz will top the recruiting class for the 2023 Crimson Tide.
Now Arkansas has the upper hand by bringing Luke’s brother, Dylan, to safety. However, it would be cause for concern if offers for both brothers were brought out of his office at Athletic in Alabama within two days.
In the most disturbing announcement, Ashdown’s Shemar Easter has decided to wait until the signing date in February to make his decision while he considers South Carolina’s football program.
On the surface, it makes a little sense that Easter might want to see how he meshes with an unrelated new tight-end coach before deciding his own future.
The problem with this line of thinking is that recently named tight end coach Morgan Turner should already have an affair with Easter. Eventually, he was assigned Arkansas as part of his territory at Stanford, and Arkansas’ top recruit is his four-star high tight his end.
It would be nasty if he wasn’t doing everything he could to build the relationship. If he’s in a relationship and his immediate Easter reaction was to plan to catch a flight to Columbia, South Carolina, that should be awkward, too.
Still, it’s entirely possible that Turner isn’t the problem.
Easter may just want to see what the program is up to before we accidentally plunge into chaos that we don’t want to deal with if things continue to go south.
Either way, Easter hesitation is a major red flag that something is somehow off. For an Arkansas high school athlete to attend another Power Five school is a harrowing experience.
Before Twitter in Arkansas was born, it was terrifying to see what children went through in making the best decisions for themselves and their futures. The outright hatred and borderline criminal abuse that some of the kids do online is devastating, and that’s on top of how they’re treated in real life.
former fan base At an NFL press conference, former starting quarterback Brandon Allen complained of its abusive nature.
That’s the guy who actually signed and became a superstar.
Local high school athletes don’t make the decision to go elsewhere lightly, especially if they’re already committed.
At least home phones and phone books no longer exist, and social media can be turned off for a bit, but it’s still a big ordeal to go through until that high school student is ready for college.
While the sky isn’t falling, there are many signs that the house is falling.
David Bazzel reported on 103.7 The Buzz’s Little Rock morning show that three donors were solicited by organizations affiliated with the university for donations of $100,000, $50,000, and $10,000, respectively.
they said no.
So, from the sound of it, Pitman is trying to put this thing back together with a limited supply of nails.
As such, it will be difficult to supplement this with a transfer portal overflowing with 4- and 5-star players.
Enjoy basketball and baseball season Arkansas fans. Before it looks good, what you see is likely to be much uglier, so don’t look at football backwards.
