Three local football players were named to the all-state team by the Pennsylvania Football Writers, announced Friday.
Archbishop Wood Marcus Dixon was selected for the Class 5A team, while Central Bucks East’s Ethan Shine and Jack Donnelly were selected for Keystone State’s Class 6A team.
Clemson-bound Dixon was named as the all-state team’s tight end. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior averaged more than 70 yards per game for him to receive and scored three touchdowns, and the Courier was named to the Times/Intelligencers First Team last fall. . The three-year starter also plays defensively on his end and is a Vikings basketball playmaker for his team.
A 5-10-year-old, 215-pound senior, Shine was selected for his runback for the Patriots with 1,911 yards and 25 touchdowns. He ran for over 200 yards in four games last fall. Shine, who also stood out as a linebacker, was named the Courier Times/Intelligencer Defensive Player of the Year.

A 6-2, 230-pound junior, Donnelly earned All-State status at tight end, caught 36 passes for 571 yards, set a one-season program record at tight end and four touchdowns. Did. Donnelly, who is also a key linebacker player, had 10 tackles in the loss.
No area players were named to Class 1A, 2A, 3A, or 4A teams.
