The (Mays and) Blue Boys are the only time Michigan has a chip on its shoulder after losing to Georgia in the 2021 semifinals.
The motivated Wolverines team has been perfect on a win-loss line this season despite the close competition, with narrow halftime scores against Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State and Purdue in one-sided results. While changing, escaped Illinois and Maryland in a one-possession battle.
Jim Harbaugh may be a weirdo, but his group usually just keeps getting better and better as the game goes on. His staff has had some impressive performances in X and O, especially related to in-game adjustments.
At the moment, the SI Sportsbook’s Michigan (-7.5) is the top favorite for touchdowns against TCU in that semifinal. He’s a 3-1 or better favorite for them to win outright on the money line, so he’ll only need to beat either Georgia or Ohio (but not both) to get into the championship.

Last year Michigan had to play against Georgia. This time around, the Bulldogs were able to pull away from a semi-final clash with perhaps the most talented fourth seed in CFP history. A highly motivated team chasing redemption? It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Wolverines win on Monday in January.
